- This is a picture of my daughter, Maura. She died from metastatic high-grade unclassified sarcoma* on May 19, 2009 at the age of 22. For one year I wrote about her journey with cancer. I don't know if I'll keep writing now or if I'm done. We'll just take it a day at a time. *Sarcoma is a little-known, under-researched, under-funded cancer. I definitely plan on picking up that book My mother, both grandmothers and aunt all had breast cancer. And I'm so glad she put something in there about lesser known cancers. I totally agree with you that once's it's in print it's pretty hard to forget. But i think Maura is hard to forget. she doesn't need print to be remembered by anyone who's life she touched. I hope you're well
