- This is a picture of my daughter, Maura. She died from metastatic high-grade unclassified sarcoma* on May 19, 2009 at the age of 22. For one year I wrote about her journey with cancer. I don't know if I'll keep writing now or if I'm done. We'll just take it a day at a time. *Sarcoma is a little-known, under-researched, under-funded cancer. Sometimes we never know this side of eternity the impact we have on others. Maura's must be apparent already, however, for the love you've received and for the University to come to her for graduation. Her sistering my kids (when they were foster kids) was a simple act of love. Simple acts are the longest lasting, no? The Bryans love all of you ... and are continuing to pray. ~ Diana

I think it's clear how impacting Maura is to everyone around her. She is truly a blessing sent from God to show us compassion, loyalty, and above all beauty. Her heart is captivating, and she is an inspiration to everyone who knows her. I will keep praying that God takes care of you in this difficult time.
